About OxDogz

I started OxDogz to help rehome dogs in Oxfordshire by providing a place for people to register interest in rehoming a dog and a place for dogs to find their forever homes.

After studying Veterinary Science at The Royal Veterinary College, I got a job in the BioScience industry but still wanted to work with and for animals so started by working voluntarily for several animal organisations co-ordinating fostering and rehoming of dogs, I still do this alongside my full time job, but realised that something more needed to be done.

With the UK in the midst of a recession, many people can no longer afford their pets or the veterinary treatments to keep them healthy, as a consequence many dogs are being abandoned or getting taken in to rescue centres.   My aim in founding OxDogz is to use my network of contacts and build a network of people wishing to rehome dogs to help rehome the dogs on our system as quickly as possible and where possible whilst the dog is living in its current home, this way, the dogs can transition from their current home into their forever home with no stop gap at kennels or being moved about.

Potential dog adopters will be asked a series of questions before they can be matched with owners of a dog to be rehomed to ensure they meet the basic requirements of owning a dog they can then be matched with a dog and the owners and we can advise owners of questions to ask and things to check before rehoming their dog.

I  can also help provide behavioural advice for dogs and any other advise on owning a dog. If you have questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
